Network Bias

Back in the day, we Caniacs felt a distinct bias from the networks, at least ESPN(2), against the Hurricanes. The Canes were formerly the Hartford Whalers, and we felt that the Connecticut-based network resented the team's move to Carolina.

McGeough

Good ole Mick McGeough. I only know about three refs by name.

Diving

I've redone these signs a couple times since this first incarnation. They now reflect the 6-point scale that I think is used in diving. I don't have a more recent image of three people holding them up, though.

This is an oldy. You can tell by the crappy resolution of my camera phone. Again, Stormy the Ice Hog is the Hurricanes mascot.

Ray Must Stay!

It’s been a kiddie roller coaster kind of week for me: going along kind of smoothly at first, then a sudden twist here, a brief high point there, and a then sickening drop which I’m too tall for this ride not to have suspected was coming. I thought I would survive my weekly case of the Mondays, when in the early evening I made the mistake of logging into Facebook and learned that my favorite hockey player, Ray Whitney, is unlikely to return to the Carolina Hurricanes next year.
